Fountain of Youth – Tips
By Jim Sayih
- Exercise Properly: Just get out and do something physical. Any exercise is better then none, however, evidence suggests that you need to use at least 1,500 calories per week to affect longevity. Several studies show that up to 3,500 calories per week of exercise reduces death from all causes. Dr. Ken Cooper of the Cooper Clinic in Dallas conducted a 15-year study regarding exercise. He showed that exercise reduced risk of death. This includes death from cardiovascular disease, a variety of cancers, and even accidents. Even small improvements in exercise in healthy men over 40 produce a large reduction in risk of death from all causes. So get busy. Just include at least 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise, such as jogging, three times per week. Don’t forget to weight-lift. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, "weight training is the most efficient, effective, and safest form of exercise there is."
- Enjoy Life:
Whenever you hesitate to take risks that might kill you, think twice. The ultimate way to de-stress life is to realize that death offers two options, which neither is bad. Heaven is peaceful and once your, dead you have no pain.
- Nutrition: Cancer among farm workers is increasing, including prostate, breast, brain, and kidney cancers. When crops are fertilized, the ground becomes very toxic, including lead, arsenic and dioxin. Try to avoid this problem by shopping at stores that sell organic grains, fruits and vegetables when possible. South America is pretty bad. There, untreated sewage is mixed with U.S. banned pesticides and sprayed on their crops.
- Eat Smaller Portions: Calorie conscious individuals benefit by inhibiting increases of cholesterol and blood pressure, insulin resistance, loss of skeletal muscle, loss of brain neurons, immune decline and susceptibility to cardiovascular diseases and cancers. Reduce your caloric intake of processed and refined foods by 20% without increasing other food intake. Eat nutrient dense foods preferably; i.e., meal replacements are a good source – Lean Bodyä
.
- Total Nutrition: Food by itself cannot help you. In April 1998, the committee of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences admitted that the average American diet does not contain sufficient vitamins and minerals, and recommended that most Americans take nutrient supplements. It is now known that 60 substances are essential structural materials to maintain the human body. If one nutrient is missing, all the others are compromised, because nutrients work in synergy with each other.
- Antioxidants: Denman Harman’s free radical theory of aging has been confirmed over the last forty years. The latest evidence shows that the most important free-radical damage of aging occurs by superoxide radicals in the mitochondria of cells. No commercial products are available for this antioxidant.
